Elisabeth is my favorite Takarazuka musical of all their shows since I first watched the Soragumi with Asato Shizuki as Der Tod a couple of years ago. After watching the Tsukigumi press conference and musical in person at Takarazuka Grand Theatre in February 2005 with Jun Sena and Nao Ayaki's amazing performances, I fell in love with the show again. Sena's gown was my favorite version of the Austrian Empress Elisabeth in all five troupe performances.

Construction Materials:
Materials include the hair jewels (16 crystal brooches), the bodice pearl & crystal brooch, crystal ring, white battenburg lace fan, underlayer bridal satin, corset bridal brocade and other materials, gold and white flower patterned lace for top layer, and 25 yards of shimmer off-white tulle for the top layers of the gown. The majority of materials were purchased in Los Angeles but the lace was purchased while I was in Japan. I bought the material while shopping on a whim in a fabric store in Tokyo. We were excited to find that it was a perfect match to the lace used in the Elisabeth gown at Salon de Takarazuka photo studio.

The first photo is the original reference to Takarazuka actress, Jun Sena in her Elisabeth gown in a scene with Midori Hatsukaze as her husband, Franz Joseph. The second is her studio close-up and third is of Jun with Nao Ayaki as DerTod (Death). The fourth picture is another reference for the Elisabeth gown. This is gown I wore for my photo at Salon de Takarazuka Photo Studio service inside the Grand Takarazuka Theatre and shows the lace that I was able to match perfectly.
